Jeff Canatalupo has not had a conventional career path. After spending ten years at advertising agency Leo Burnett (where he eventually served as Vice President), Jeff felt an entrepreneurial itch…and he decided to pursue it.
In 2010, Jeff founded Listen Ventures, a brand-focused venture capital firm to back and build startups.Today, his portfolio includes powerhouse brands like Artifact Uprising, Raise, Bucketfeet, and Interior Define.
Jeff has learned a lot along the way — and he’s come to view his nontraditional background as an asset. On this episode, Jeff discusses the importance of forming emotional connections with customers, the secret to making a good business model even stronger, and the process of choosing the business partner. He also shared a bit about his background — including how growing up with the chairman and CEO of McDonald’s as his father shaped his outlook. Listen in (no pun intended!) for his story, his advice, and his insights.
